Can I convert animated or HDR AVIF images?
Animated AVIF files are converted to a still image of the first frame. HDR images are saved with standard colours (SDR), which is what most screens and programs expect.
Does converting AVIF to PNG reduce quality?
No. PNG is lossless, so the PNG contains exactly the pixels of the AVIF image. The trade-off is size: a PNG of a photo is usually larger than the original.
