Remove EXIF data from photos

Photos often contain hidden information, such as the exact GPS location where they were taken, the camera or phone model and the date. Remove it before you share a photo online.

100% private: processed on your device, nothing is uploaded.

JPG, PNG and WebP files are cleaned without re-compressing, so there is zero quality loss. Colour profile and orientation are kept.

How it works

  1. Choose or drag your photos into the box above.
  2. We show which metadata was found and remove it, without re-compressing the image.
  3. Download the cleaned photos and share them safely.

What is EXIF data?

EXIF is information that a camera or phone stores inside a photo: GPS coordinates, date and time, camera model, lens and settings. Anyone who has the file can read it, which can reveal where you live or work.

Lossless and private

For JPG, PNG and WebP we only remove the metadata blocks and leave the image data untouched, so there is no quality loss at all. The colour profile and the correct orientation are kept. HEIC photos are saved as JPG without metadata.

Frequently asked questions

Do social media remove EXIF data automatically?

Many large platforms strip location data from public posts, but email, messaging apps (when sending as a file), cloud links, forums and marketplaces often do not. Removing it yourself is the safe choice.

Will my photo look different?

No. The pixels are not changed. The file only gets slightly smaller because the hidden data is gone.

Is the photo still rotated correctly?

Yes. We keep only the orientation tag, so the photo is shown upright, while everything else is removed.
